| East Kootenay Trench Agriculture-Wildlife Committee (EKTAWC) For the Trench Society, this is
the report that really got the ecosystem restoration ball rolling.
Published in 1998, the EKTAWC report was the result of seven years'
work by ranchers, hunters, environmentalists, civil servants, logging
contractors, forest company staff, the Ktunaxa and guide outfitters.
The East Kootenay Trench Agriculture-Wildlife
Committee was disbanded in 1997 but its vision is maintained by today's
Trench Society, which evolved from the EKTAWC.
The report provides an excellent summary of the long history of forage conflict in the East Kootenay. | |
